The planned site for the WTE project in Runan County is within the eco-efficient park, north of Chongde Road, west of the current waste landfill, and south of Lvjia Automobile Industry. The land area is 90,000 square meters.

This project is designed with a daily processing capacity of 900t/d, and will be constructed in two phases. The capacity of the first phase is 600t/d, with 2*300t/d incineration lines. The operation period annually is no less than 333 days. Meanwhile, a 1×12MW steam turbine generator set is also equipped. In the second phase, based on the amount of domestic waste collected and transported, a 300t/d incineration line will be added, and the annual operation time will be no less than 333 days. An emergency landfill area will be constructed with a storage capacity of about 200,000 cubic meters.

The service scope of this project includes household waste generated in Runan County and solid waste such as kitchen waste, construction waste, municipal sludge and medical waste in the planned eco-efficient park. The administrative area of Runan County includes 14 towns, 4 community centers, and a total area of 1503.56 square meters.

The total population of Runan County is 859,300 and the urbanization rate is 35.86% (Data source: 2016 Runan County Statistical Bulletin). Please check the population size of Runan County in short, medium and long term respectively.

The project will bring three aspects of benefits:

First, saving the land. After the waste goes through the incineration, the volume will be reduced by about 85%, alleviating the pressure of land occupation by landfill and solve the problem of land shortage for future urbanization.

Second, protecting the ecological environment, saving resources and creating wealth. Waste incineration can provide high-quality energy for the society. In addition, residues produced by garbage incineration are so dense and sterile that they can be used to make materials for road construction. Furthermore, metal materials including iron can be recycled by magnetic separation.

Third, reducing the government’s financial burden. With the continuous expansion of the population and area in Runan county, the amount of waste generated continues to increase, leading to an ever greater public funding gap for environmental protection. In this project, enterprises are introduced as independent players to contribute in the environment protection course.
